Bad Romance By Jen McLaughlin (Adults Only)

Hey everyone, I have an awesome stepbrother romance to tell you about this morning!

Bad Romance by Jen McLaughlin

Jackson Worthington has his life all mapped out by his controlling father but it is not the life he wants to leave. His own mother will not even stand up for her son's wishes.

BUT

No matter how much they force him to bend to his stepfather's demands. He takes his life and future into his own hands,

He enlists in the Army.

He will not miss anyone in his family. Except, his stepsister Lilly, as she has been the only one of them that has ever showed kindness towards him.

In a moment of weakness, Jackson is caught in a not so brotherly act with his stepsister.

Seven years later, a combat injury leaves him with a position as a Recruiting Officer and a trip back home.

Lilly is all grown up, but is she still the good girl he remembers?

OR

Has daddy pushed too far?

I LOVED THIS BOOK! I loved everything from the main characters to the story-line and everything in-between! I read this book in one sitting while my son was taking a nap!

HAPPY READING!!!

Best Wishes Always,

Wicked Woman

Tomorrow's Lies By S.R. Grey (Adults Only)

Hey everyone, July and August are always busy times of the year for me. However, I am back with another emotional read.

Tomorrow's Lies by S.R. Grey

Jaynie Cumberland was abandoned by her mother and was thrust into the foster care system. Her journey has been a difficult one. Her last home was decent until the foster mother's son was released from prison and Jaynie became his target.

Being his target took away a piece of her, leaving her with PTSD and trust issues.

Now, the system has a new place for her. The situation is better than the last but that is not saying much, at least her and the other children their have become a family of sorts.

However, Flynn O'Neil is not like a big brother to her, as he is to everyone else. He brings Jaynie out of her shell and she begins to feel alive again.

BUT

What will become of these children?

Will they make it til their 18th birthday's?

I have mixed emotions about this book. The book was a steady read that had me on my toes. However, as a mother my heart was breaking for these children. I wanted to protect these children from these heartless monsters. I was rooting for these kids til the very end and found the ending to be satisfying. I cannot wait for book two to see what happens next.

Lola and the Boy Next Door By Stephanie Perkins

Hey everyone, I am back with the last review of the evening. The following book is a sequel in the Anna and the French Kiss companion series. It can be read as a standalone. However, Anna and Étienne make appearances through out this book.

Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins

Lola Nolan is an eccentric teen who dreams of turning her talent for costume design into a career.

She is a happy teen with an older rock out boyfriend named Max.

UNTIL

Twins, Calliope and Cricket, return to the neighborhood.

Leaving Lola with a flood of mixed emotions and confusion towards the boy next door.

Is Max still the one?

OR

Has Cricket always had her heart all along?

I enjoyed this read. This book was a fun read. The conversations between Lola and Cricket were the best parts. I love that Anna and Étienne make reappearances in this book. Personally, I prefer Anna and the French Kiss over this book. With that said, I will continue on with, Isla and the Happily Ever After.

HAPPY READING!!!

Best Wishes Always,

Wicked Woman

Claimed By Elle Kennedy (Adults Only)

Hey everyone! Now, on to the third review of the evening, a scorching hot, post apocalyptic read!

 Claimed by Elle Kennedy

The world as we know it does not exist.

The Global Council has their own rules.

Freedom as we know it no longer exists.

The ones who cling to the old ways of freedom are known as Outlaws. As Patrick Henry once said in his speech,"Give me liberty or give me death"

The ways of the Outlaw are dangerous. Money is no longer good. Trade/Raiding is the only way to survive.

Conner and his men decide to unwind at a bar. Until, a band of hardcore bandits intrude and they step-in to save the day.

As Conner and his men get ready to leave the bar, a damsel in distress asks for protection.

Hudson is not like any outlaw he has ever met.

He is wary of her and denies her request.

However, his men riddle him with guilt and despite his own judgement he goes back for her.

Who is this woman?

Where did she come from?

Can she be trusted?

And most importantly, is she a liability?

I am not one for dystopian reads these days, but I made an exception for Elle Kennedy! I REALLY enjoyed this toe curling adventure. In many ways if this were to occur in real life, this would be how most would have to survive, by banning together. I look forward to continuing on with this series! Elle Kennedy is a MUST READ author for me!

HAPPY READING!!!

Best Wishes Always,

Wicked Woman

*Graphic Novel: Giant Days Vol. 2 By John Allison

Hey everyone, I am back with the second review of the evening, a graphic novel!

Giant Days Vol. 2 by John Allison

Susan, Esther, and Daisy are back in this second installment.

Their hilarious shenanigans never fail to get them into off the wall situations, that will have you shaking your head in disbelief and laughing out loud!

The art style is great but I felt something was lacking, unlike in Vol 1.

I am REALLY enjoying this series, thus far! While I enjoyed Vol 1, I was laughing more through out Vol 2! I cannot wait to continue with the series!

HAPPY READING!!!

Best Wishes Always,

Wicked Woman

Filthy English By Ilsa Madden-Mills (Adults Only)

Hey everyone, I am sorry that I am checking in/posting so late in the month. This month has been hectic and a bit unkind to me. I hope July is going well for all of you. The first of four reads I will be telling you about today is the sequel to Dirty English. (It can be read as a standalone. However, the main characters do make an on and off appearance through out the book.)

Filthy English by Ilsa Madden-Mills

Remi Montague’s fiancé calls things off two weeks before they are supposed to say I Do.

Remi and her best gal pal decide to go to the pre-planned honeymoon destination, London.

Why shouldn't she have some fun after enduring heartbreak?

One night, while at a masquerade party, Remi falls into the lap of a British bad boy from her past,
Dax Blay.

They say the past is the past and not to look back.

BUT

If your past comes back around, Does that mean it is meant to be your future?

I LOVED THIS BOOK! I loved the plot, the main characters, and that Elizabeth and Declan make a reappearance in this book. This book was a touching, fun, good time. Despite, a heartbreaking truth that is brought to light. I highly recommend this read!
