A Thousand Boy Kisses By Tillie Cole

Hey everyone, today I will be sharing with you the sweetest but saddest book I have ever read! Warning: You will need an entire box of tissues for this read!

A Thousand Boy Kisses by Tillie Cole

Poppy Litchfield and Rune Kristiansen's lives changed forever when they became next door neighbors and friends, at a young age. The two became inseparable and went on adventures together.

One day, Poppy left school early only to discover her Mamaw was dying.

The two were very close and her Mamaw would tell her that the best memories that she had were of the kisses that were shared with Poppy's Pawpaw.

Before she passed, she said she had a new adventure for Poppy to go on. She gave her a jar with a thousand paper hearts inside and told her to collect a thousand kisses from her soulmate, to tell her grandchildren about someday.

When Rune found out about Poppy's new adventure he was upset and was quick to lay claim to Poppy.

As time went on, their connection grew stronger.

Then, the unthinkable happened. Rune was advised that their family must return to their home country of Norway.

How will their relationship withstand distance and time?

They have vowed to remain in touch until they can be reunited again.

BUT

Time can change a lot.

Are they truly meant to be?

OR

Are they destined to be forever parted?

I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS BOOK! It was the sweetest yet saddest book I have ever read! The writing was perfection, from the characters to the ending! The story was fast paced and there was never a dull moment. It destroyed me in the best possible way. This book is one that will stick with you until the end of time. I dare anyone to read this book and not cry, it is just not possible. This will certainly be on my list, Favorites of 2016! As well as my, All-Time Favorites list!

HAPPY READING!!!

Magonia By Maria Dahvana Headley

Hey everyone, I have a fantasy read to share with you!

Magonia by Maria Dahvana Headley

Aza has a mysterious lung disease. Every day is a struggle and every year she survives is a miracle.

One day when she spots a ship in the sky, everyone thinks that she is having hallucinations as a side effect caused by her medication.

However, Aza is not convinced as she also hears a voice call her name.

She tells her brainiac, best friend, Jason what has been happening to her. He tells her legends that may offer some kind of explanation.

After sometime passes, Jason notices that Aza is getting worse and that her time is coming to an end. So, he takes the opportunity to tell her that he has more than friendly feelings for her.

Their time is cut short when, shortly after his declaration of love, she is found passed out and he has to call for help.

On the way to the hospital there is a bad storm and the medics are doing everything to try to save her life.

Despite their efforts, she left Earth for Magonia.

Where she learns a whole new way of life.

Can she figure out how to navigate the new world and stay the Aza she has always known?

OR

Is she destined to be someone new?

I REALLY enjoyed this book! The writing was beautiful! The story was unique! It did take me a little time to get used to the writing style and there were a few moments where the story became slow and lost my interest. It did redeem itself during the action scenes and I was satisfied with the ending for the most part.

Inevitable Detour By S.R. Grey (Adults Only)

Hey everyone, I am back with a thriller intertwined with a love story.

Inevitable Detour by S.R. Grey

Essalin Brant, aka Essa, is a play by the rules college student.

She met her best friend, Haven, during early freshman orientation. Now with summer break approaching and only one year of college left to go, the two girls decide to go to a bar to celebrate. They were both having a fun time.

UNTIL

The two guys they met at the bar, came home with them. The girls were drunk and one of the guys offered to get Essa some aspirin. She took what was offered and then passes out. When she wakes, she realizes Haven has been kidnapped. When she alerts the local authorities of the situation, they refuse to listen and insist that she is just out of town enjoying summer break.

The only one who believes Essa is Haven's brother, Farren Shaw.

Essa has only seen photos of  Farren and heard stories of him through Haven. She has never met him in the flesh

UNTIL

Farren is discovered searching through his sisters' room.

The mysteriously, sexy brother and the sisterly, best friend set out on their rescue mission.

BUT

Does Farren know more about his sisters' kidnapping than he is letting on?

I LOVED THIS BOOK! It was fast paced, well written and had a few unsuspecting twists. The  only two things I did not like was when Essa admitted sensing warning bells. Yet, she kept continuing to drink. Also, when they were being asked odd questions about their place. To me, that seemed too obvious. This book is part of a duology and I WILL be picking up the second book, Inevitable Circumstances.

HAPPY READING!!!

Body Check By Elle Kennedy (Adults Only)

Hey everyone, I am back with another hockey romance from Elle Kennedy!

Body Check by Elle Kennedy

Hayden Houston is an art history professor at Berkley who  has come to be by her fathers side while he navigates through his messy divorce. While she is there she hopes to reconnect with him as well.

Reconnecting with him is not going to be easy, since he lives and breathes hockey and she has come to resent the sport.

Before she left home to help her father she told her boyfriend, Doug, that she needed space.

Doug seems like the stable choice.

BUT

They have been together for a couple of months and he does not want to have sex with her, yet.

Hayden is sexually frustrated and is encouraged by her best friend, Darcy, to let her inner vixen indulge for one night.

Who does she set her sights on?

Brody Croft, who is unbeknownst to Hayden, is a hockey player.

Croft used to be a love'em and leave'em type of guy. Now days he wants a girl who will love the man, not the athlete.

BUT

When Hayden suggests that they go to her place, there is something different about her, he does not say no to her proposition.

When their one night is over he wants more.

Will she go back to stable Doug?

OR

Give into desire?

I REALLY LOVED THIS BOOK! Elle Kennedy writes the best hockey romances I have ever read! She is one of my favorite, must read, authors! Her stories are well written, her characters are perfectly matched, and I always enjoy every min. of her books as I fly through them!

Shatter Me By Tahereh Mafi

Hey, I hope everyone is doing well. Today, I have a dystopian read to share with you!

Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi

Juliette is a seventeen year old girl who has an unusually lethal ability, the touch of death.

She has been locked away in solitude for 264 days.

Until one day, a cellmate is forced upon her.

Adam, who is her age, is new to the ways of survival under imprisonment.

BUT

He is quick to dominate their now shared space.

Juliette remembers Adam from her past.

BUT

Does he remember her?

She informs him how the routines of eating and showering go.

Life on the outside is no picnic. Food is scarce, diseases are taking out the population, birds do not take flight, and even the clouds are no longer white.

The Reestablishment has made false promises and there has been silent whispers of rebellion and war.

The dictator in charge of the area wants to use her as a weapon.

Will she succumb to his wishes?

OR

Find her inner warrior?

I enjoyed this book overall. However, there were some slow parts. The middle of the book picked up and the end entices me to want to pick up the sequel, Unravel Me. I have heard this series gets better at it progresses.

HAPPY READING!!!

Best Wishes Always,

Wicked Woman

Ugly Love By Colleen Hoover (Adults Only)

Hey everyone, the book I will be sharing with you today seems to be a hit or miss among readers.

Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover

Tate Collins moves in with her brother, Corbin, temporarily. From the day she moves in she meets the neighbor, Miles Archer, under unusual circumstances. She finds him sitting in front of her brother's door highly intoxicated.

While getting him settled for the night he starts to babble saying that he is sorry, Rachel.

She finds herself wondering, who is Rachel?

AND

What did he do?

The next morning he introduces himself properly and explains that he is friends with her brother.

One thing is certain, he is the quiet type and hates to talk about himself.

As time goes on, the two cross paths frequently. Their mutual attraction is undeniable and the tension is heavy.

When the Collin's return home for Thanksgiving, Miles joins them.

In a moment of weakness he gives into his desires and kisses, Tate.

Once the flood gates open, confessions are made and a deal is struck, with only two rules:
*Never ask about the past.
*Don’t expect a future.

But can they share their bodies without giving away their hearts?

Colleen Hoover is my favorite author! However when it comes to this book, I have heard it is a hit or miss with readers. I wanted to read this book and find out what my take is. So, here it is...

While I can understand why some people have issues with Miles as a character, I can honestly say the internal struggles he was going through are realistic. I do not want to go into those struggles to avoid spoilers. However, I will say that as someone who has gone though a similar situation as an adult. What he was feeling numb, guilt, etc. are natural. That in no way excuses his actions and he could have done things differently. However, when you are a teen you are still trying to find yourself but when you lose a part of yourself before ever finding yourself, it can be that much more devastating.

I honestly could not have pulled through my situation without my, Sweet and I am an adult. Having someone solid stay by your side makes all the difference in the world.

Now with that said, I always REALLY enjoy Colleen Hoover's books and the writing was solid but, I did not think the main characters were right for each other. Tate knew Miles was going through something and kept thinking things would change. She would get so wrapped up and then when he couldn't give her what she needed she threw an internal pity party.
