Confessions Of A Queen B* By Crista McHugh

Hey everybody, today I am ending the month with a read about a blunt blogger who makes people scamper to avoid being the subject of her next post.

Confessions of a Queen B* by Crista McHugh

After Alexis Wyndham was back-stabbed years ago by her supposed friend, Summer Hoyt, on her way up the ladder of popularity, Alexis decided she was going to be a Queen B too.

That is how the The Eastline Spy came to be.

A girl who was prey became the hunter, using her position of power to help the unpopular walk the hallways a little easier.

One person can make a difference.

When Alexis is paired up with high school Quarterback, Brett Pederson, to work on a Health class assignment, she is none too pleased.

However, a lot can happen in two weeks.

Is Brett just another dumb jock?

Can Brett teach her that Queen B's should have mercy on their Subject's every now and then?

I LOVED THIS BOOK! The book is entertaining with a positive point for the book's target audience. Yet, can be enjoyed by many. I am a huge fan of  Crista McHugh and this book does NOT disappoint!

Pixelated By L.S. Murphy

Hey everyone, I have a small town read to share with you!

Pixelated by L.S. Murphy

Piper Marks had hoped to graduate with her friends in St. Louis, Missouri. Her mother divorced her father, quit her job and decided to move them to small town Clarkton, Iowa with her new husband.

Piper was in for a shock, adjusting from a big city to small town life. She barely had internet, her cell service was poor and there was little to do.

Piper was homesick, but the one thing she loved that could go anywhere with her was her love of photography.

Her mother and stepfather owned two newspapers. One day, when Piper walks in, she is told her mother is in her office having a heated conversation with the photographer.

When the photographer leaves the paper in a bind her mother enlists her help.

Her first assignment was taking photos of the football team.

Piper has her sights zoomed in on one player in particular, tight end, Les Williams.

People who live in small towns usually know everyone and their business.

When she is told that Les has a girlfriend, she is disappointed. However, when Les starts paying attention to her, she cannot write him off.

Being new in any school is difficult but being new in Clarkton is like trudging along in thick, muddy water.

Everyone has grown up together.

Where does Piper fit in?

I REALLY enjoyed this book! This book was well written. I felt like I was right there with her as the story unfolded and not as a reader enjoying a book.

Shadows By Jennifer L. Armentrout

Hey everyone, I am back again with a spectacular and addictive read!

Shadows by Jennifer L. Armentrout

While sitting in class, Dawson thought it was going to be another long boring school day.

The sound of the bell rang and in that instant his whole life changed, when Bethany Williams walked into his English class.

Bethany Williams and her family moved to West Virginia from Nevada to help care for her ill uncle.

Dawson was blown away by her beauty the moment he saw her.

He could not help but stare at her.

After classes ended she was trying to determine which room her next class was in. Being the new kid was bad enough but looking at her faded printer ink schedule, the room number was unclear.

Making her way through the crowd, she heard a voice tell her to hold up.

It was the guy from English class, Dawson.

She could not deny her attraction to him and his mesmerizing eyes.

Attraction may have been what caught each others attention but the more they hung out, a deeper connection developed.

Dawson has a secret, if Bethany were to find out, nothing would ever be the same.

He and everyone he loved would be at risk.

Are the stakes too high or will he take his chances?

I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS BOOK!!! This book is highly addictive! You will be turning page after page not wanting to put it down much less end! I LOVED EVERYTHING about this book! Jennifer L. Armentrout is a creative genius and a MUST read author!

HAPPY READING!!!!

What Happens In Paris By Jen McConnel

Hey everyone, I have a book about self discovery through adventure to share with you.

What Happens In Paris by Jen McConnel

Camie was attending school with the help of a scholarship but is on the verge of losing the scholarship due to her grades.

After speaking with her adviser she was informed that she was on academic probation and that she would need to pay for classes herself until her grades improved.

Having no other options she got a loan.

The amount she was given, more than covered her classes. Her dorm mate suggested that Camie should  travel to Paris, France to clear her head.

She made plans of everything she wanted to see but from the moment she went to claim her bag things did not go as planned.

Her adventure started with a guy and an innocent misunderstanding.

I LOVED EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS BOOK! The book was so well written that I felt like I was right there with Camie. The characters were very entertaining, from the conversations and witty banter to the situations Camie got herself into.

Sacred Medicine By Adlynn Flaharty

Hey everyone, I have a touching novella to share with you today.

Sacred Medicine by Adlynn Flaharty

Cassie and her husband Brian were returning home to the city after celebrating their third year wedding anniversary at their cabin in the woods.

On the way home it was raining heavily causing a car accident that took her loving husband's life.

Three years later, Cassie is still grieving and having a difficult time moving forward. Her best friend Hope had suggested that she should get out, date and have some fun but Cassie's heart just was not in it.

One weekend while attending a convention for work a man named Jed had greeted her. What started out as a friendly hello went to persistence she could not shake.

Brian was her whole world.

BUT

Is it possible for her to honor his memory and open her heart to another?

I enjoyed this book! The book is accurate when it comes to grieving a loved one. Grief has no time frame and there is no getting over losing someone you love. All we can do is continue to live the rest of our lives with cherished memories, be grateful for the time we had with them and enjoy the people who are still here with us.

Hello, Goodbye, and Everything in Between By Jennifer E. Smith

Hey everyone,  the book I will be sharing with you today is about growing up and moving forward.

Hello, Goodbye, and Everything in Between by Jennifer E. Smith

Clare and Aidan are high school sweethearts but with the distance that will be between them when they take their separate paths to college, she believes the best thing for them both is to end their relationship. Aidan does not agree, he knows things will change and become difficult but he wants them to remain together.

On the night before leaving for college, Clare has a list of memorable places she wants them to visit. She thinks that recapping the highlights of their two year relationship is the perfect way to have closure. Aidan sees the night as his opportunity to convince Clare that breaking up is not the answer.

The night does not go as either one had planned. Fights break out, truths are discovered and Clare realizes not everything in life is as black and white as she thought.

It is hard for me to say if I liked this book or not. I did not hate it but I did not love it. I really wanted to love it. I found this book difficult to get into. However, the story tore at my heart and the ending had all the feels.

Crank By Shauna Allen

Hey everyone, I hope you guys are having a lovely Saturday. Earlier this month on the 6th I posted my review of Burnout by Shauna Allen, a prequel to the book I will be sharing with you today. If you have not read Burnout yet I highly recommend in doing so. The book I will be sharing with you today is connected to Burnout. So, some spoilers cannot be avoided.

Crank by Shauna Allen

At the end of Burnout Blake and Delilah were to be married.

Every marriage has its ups and downs.

Blake has his own auto shop, Jack' Em Up. Delilah is a massage therapist. Unfortunately, that is where the ups end and the downward spiral begins.

After three miscarriages the grief of the loss of their children has overtaken the couple. Blake kept busy at the shop and tried numbing himself with alcohol.

The one day Delilah decides to surprise her husband at the shop, she is the one who gets a surprise of her own. She finds Blake with another woman in a questionable setting.

Everyone reaches a point where they cannot handle anymore. For Delilah, that was her breaking point and she filed for divorce.

Upon being served, he was shocked. Reality slapped him in the face and he became determined to not only turn things around but, for them to find their way back to each other again.

They both still love each other but, has loss changed them so much that they lose each other?

I enjoyed this book! The story was well developed, heartbreakingly realistic and I loved the characters!

Faithless (Part 1) By K.B. Nelson (Adults Only)

Hey everyone, I have something different for you this time around. I have a serial to share. I usually do not read serials but this particular one caught my attention. To the best of my knowledge I believe it to be a three part serial.

Faithless (Part 1) by K.B. Nelson

Faith Richards and Noah Parker grew up in foster care and were adopted by a loving couple who had a biological son of their own.

However, when tragedy strikes the chance for their happily ever after is shattered, leaving the three with emotional scars.

Five years later Faith returns home but the boy she knew is now a man that people look to for guidance in their faith.

Will these lost souls ever be able to make peace with the past or will they keep stumbling along the cracks of life?

I enjoyed this serial. I appreciated the raw and realistic emotional struggles.

Hey everyone, I hope you all are doing well with this crazy weather. Whether you are experiencing drought or an abundance of rain, I hope you all are safe. Without further delay I have a unique and enjoyable read to share with you.

Pisces by Rachel Medhurst

Pisces, along with her brothers and sisters were born with a mission. They are each to unite with their twin flame soul mate in the current lifetime.

Their mother had told them that their father had resurfaced and wanted to kill them. So, when Pisces was confronted by a man who said he worked for her father she was frightened.

With all the obstacles in her path, will she ever find her twin flame soul mate?

I enjoyed this book! I loved how the author created such a unique storyline and the way she intertwined action with love.

Masquerade By J.S. Cooper (Adults Only)

Hey everyone, today I have an interesting novella to share with you.

Masquerade by J.S. Cooper

Jakob has the finer things in life but unlike his half brother David he has worked hard to get where he is.

Now that he is successful his brother acknowledges him in his world. They were never close and have never bonded.

Little does he know Jakob is the one keeping David, his poor businesses and their family business Bradley Inc. afloat.

When Bianca, the daughter of a former employee of Bradley Inc. starts sniffing around and wanting answers the key players devise a plan.

However, Jakob has a plan of his own, but will his feelings be the game changer?

I really enjoyed this read. I love J.S. Cooper's writing! However, I feel like this novella was more of a serial due to it's length. I realize this is just a small part of a larger story. It just felt more like a television episode than a quick read.

Burnout By Shauna Allen

Hey everyone, I am back again with another charming read!

Burnout by Shauna Allen

Delilah Jackson was the oldest daughter to the town's Sheriff and a County Judge. On the outside everything about her screamed perfection, but what they did not know is that she hated the mold her parents pressured her into.

Looking for a little release from the pressure of her parents expectations she forged her mothers signature and dropped all but one of her AP classes.

After class her father sent her a text to come home immediately after school. The next thing she knew she had damaged a '69 Chevy Camero that happened to belong to Blake Travers.

Blake Travers had a bad rep thanks to his drunken asshole of a father and his felon of a brother.

Delilah offered to pay for the damage, but Blake refused.

Blake was too prideful. He had earned the money for his car and every repair it needed by working at the Super Lube.

Since he would not accept her money she was determined to help fix what she broke.

Will a ray of sunshine peek through the clouds of darkness for these two or will they have to wait until graduation, to shine?

I enjoyed this quick read. While it was predictable, it was a sweet feel good book. Kind of like a chocolate bar on a long day.

Nova and Quinton: No Regrets By Jessica Sorensen

Hey everyone, I cannot believe it is May! This month has been crazy already! Yet, I was still able to have a few moments of down time. I hope this spring has been treating you well. The book I have to share with you is about life challenges and fighting to stay afloat.

Nova and Quinton: No Regrets by Jessica Sorensen

Quinton Carter struggled with drug addiction after several months of being in the safety net of rehab. It was time for him to step out, back into the world and begin his new life.

His drug addiction was intertwined with guilt over an accident that resulted in the loss of two lives.

Nova Reed is the one person who never gave up on him. Even with her own tragic past she has managed to remain optimistic after dealing with her own loss. She is always there to encourage others from going on another downward spiral.

Nova saved Quinton but, is he strong enough to return the favor in her time of need?

I enjoyed this book. The emotions were realistic and raw. It brought the meaning of love and loyalty to light. In life when bad things happen, society has a tendency to write people off. People who really want to change can do so with self determination and a good support system.

HAPPY READING!!!

Best Wishes Always,

Wicked Woman
