The French For Christmas By Fiona Valpy

Hey everyone, Are you guys in the Christmas spirit yet? If not, I have the story that just might get you a little closer to  feeling the Christmas spirit and feeling less Bah Hum Bug! :)

The French for Christmas by Fiona Valpy

Evie and Will  used to love cooking and running a bistro together but after the devastating loss of  their daughter the two have separated.

Evie's friends offer her the use of their countryside cottage as a way for Evie to get away from all things Christmas and  rejuvenate.

When she arrives she realizes it is not as peaceful as she thought it would be and has to get used to the sounds.

She decides to visit a market and along the way comes across a church that shows her how to find light in darkness.

After sometime she becomes ill. So, when Didier knocks on the door to ask if he may borrow a grater she is far from up to the task of  making a good impression. Though, it is a lasting one.

A little time away was supposed to be an escape from Christmas. However, Christmas may find her.

I really enjoyed this book it was heart wrenching and heartwarming at the same time. This book is a reminder of what is truly important and not just during the holidays but in everyday life. I also felt a connection with Evie having lost my youngest daughter when she was only 24 days old. Loss is not something to get over. The people we lose we must carry them in our hearts and souls as we continue to live until we are reunited again.

HAPPY READING!!!

Best Wishes Always,

Wicked Woman
